Andrea Bridgeman is associate general counsel for Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac). She practices in the single-family real estate and mortgage-backed securities areas of Freddie Mac's Legal Division where she also supports the Legal Division’s pro bono program.
Earlier, she was a securities lawyer in a DC firm and then corporate counsel for syndication enterprizes and a real estate developer.
She has been a member of Virginia’s Access to Justice Commission since its inception. After years of representing clients and fundraising for Legal Services of Northern Virginia and Potomac Legal Aid Society, she became a director of both (and Potomac’s board chair). She was elected to three terms on the State Bar’s Council, served as faculty for its mandatory professionalism course and chaired the Access to Legal Services Committee and the Corporate Counsel Section. She works closely with several voluntary bars, emphasizing pro bono activities and supporting legal aid providers and their clients, and is currently a board member of the National Legal Aid and Defender Association.
She is a graduate Bryn Mawr College and UVA Law School.
